What is a Media Kit? – A Media Kit is Your Publicity Magnet

Share

The Media Kit is an essential tool for attracting publicity and positioning yourself or your company as an industry expert.

There are 6 items thatMedia Kit are shared in the full Media Magic program; however, here are a few essentials to stay out of the PR department’s trash:

Show yourself as an expert with your Power Bio which includes an up-to-date photo from the last 12-18 months.

We all have been on Facebook where someone has a picture of himself from 20 years ago.

You want an accurate portrayal of how you are now!

Remember to have action photos ready.

Action photos tend to attract larger article space and can easily connect individuals with projects.

Print publications want high resolution photos typically 300 dpi or greater, so make sure that you are using high quality photographs for all of your printed materials.

Another important item is to have sample press releases ready for them to publish or use.

If available, you want to include any marketing efforts that you have been featured in in the past.

Articles and radio or TV shows that already showcase you in the media will always yield more publicity.

No one wants to feel left out of the next big story, so you want to make sure that you are one of those people.

When you are just getting started, paid advertisement is okay; however, when you use our Media Magic program, you will learn to attract publicity.

The media always feels better seeing first hand that you have communicated to the masses through other media outlets.

However, if the story is new and newsworthy, you can easily be a first timer!!

We all have to start somewhere with getting publicity.

What do you currently have in your Media Kit?
