The Bucket List

Share

I recently watched the movie Bucket List and I am very grateful to have been inspired by the movie prior to my recent family vacation. A “bucket list” is the list of all the things you want to do and experience before you “kick the bucket”.

I have a process every yearend. I celebrate successes of the prior year and I look at what I would like to accomplish in the year to come. I have not created a list of desired life accomplishments yet, though I know what I would like to accomplish. I have not really focused on some of my big wishes lately, as my attention has been intently focused on building and co-creating a global cooperative community (CLP). However, I was inspired to start my ‘bucket list.”

After watching the movie was our family vacation/reunion scheduled in Gatlinburg, TN. It was exciting to start this vacation with our arrival at a $1.4 million dollar log cabin located in the Smoky Mountains. The cabin was magical with an infrared sauna on the second level porch, along with an amazing Jacuzzi to watch the sunsets in the evening and the stars at night. As we had the opportunity to connect with more than thirty people, we shared the opportunity to schedule family memories.
Each experience on my “bucket list” represents wisdom and opportunities to learn and grow. So here is the beginning of my “bucket list.”

Being on my journey as a woman CEO, I am fascinated by observing all the possibilities and accomplishments of any women-owned businesses. The first item on my “bucket list” was to visit Dollywood – the amusement park owned by Dolly Pardon, smack in the middle of the Smoky Mountains. I never imagined I would be inspired by Dollywood, but I was. I enjoyed the music, the colors, and the well thought-out experience!

I had additional experiences on my “bucket list” such as, whitewater rafting and horse back riding in the Smoky Mountains. I was able to experience whitewater rafting. The rafting represented so many lessons for me. The biggest was speaking my truth, faith, and acting in spite of fear. I learned to enjoy the journey of life instead of focusing on the destination; the journey of adventure, fun and inspirations.

I am continuing to create my “bucket list.” I encourage everyone in the space to do the same. It works. As a study shows, individuals who write goals down have an 80% higher chance of completing their goals than individuals that do not write them down.
